E2 Glass and Argon add comfort to your home. Energy from the
sun is transmitted through the glass to the interior of your
home where it is absorbed by carpeting, walls, furniture etc.
This becomes long wave infrared radiation.
Heat energy from lights heating registers, fireplaces etc. also
are
long wave infrared radiation. When this long wave energy rises
to escape through the glass, Smartglass 4.17 reflects 96% of
this
energy back into the room with a resultant higher winter R Value.
The
Low E2 coating reflects much of the direct sun's rays and virtually
all of the long wave radiation from materials outside the home
such
as pavement, sidewalks, earth etc. Approximately 60% of short
wave
radiation is reflected while about 96% of long wave radiation
is
reflected.
No glass available today will totally eliminate fading, however,
with
Smartglass 4.17 and its ability to eliminate approximately 86%
of the
ultraviolet rays, you will dramatically prolong the life of
the material
within your home.
