On Sept 18, 2017 our island paradise was devastated by a category 5 hurricane (Maria) There is no category 6. At 3:00 p.m. it was a category 3 but within 3 hours escalated to a category 5. No one was expecting such an event. It was very slow moving and pummeled the island for 10 hours. Literally stripping the trees clean of all leaves, toppling trees, and destroying or damaging 90% of the homes and roofs there. At 6:00 pm that night I was speaking to my husband Phillip who was in Dominica while I was here in White Rock. He had done what he could to secure the house, the winds were getting stronger, then our connection was lost. I was not able to communicate with him directly for 8 agonizing days.
...Once able to communicate with Phillip 8 days later I found out that our home suffered minimal damage. In fact many people were sheltered there both during and after the storm as their homes were severely damaged. Phillip had told me that he watched as the glass in our 4 foot slider windows became almost like liquid and moved back and forth. But thank goodness they all held. Not one window or screen was broken or missing. Amazing really as many others were not so fortunate. So good job Starline! Had this not been the case and the hurricane had entered our home all would have been lost. I probably won't purchase any other window in my home."
